Il titolo di questa Challenge? Birthstone Challenge.
Sostanzialmente, ispirati dalla pietra mensile, ogni terzo lunedì posteremo qualcosa di inerente.
Gennaio è il mese del granato, tipicamente immaginato rosso ma, in natura, esistente in diversi colori (googlare per credere).
Ma io mi sono attenuta all'immaginazione collettiva è ho puntato su...

Welcome to the first (out of 12) monthly post, created after Ere's idea ♡
The title? Birthstone Challenge.
The thing works like this: every third Monday of the month we'll post something about the month's gem.
January is garnet month, usually thought like a red gem but, you have to know, you can find it in different shades, in nature (check out google images).
But I went for the classic one with...

Sinful Colors 839 Sugar Sugar, un colore tendente al bordeaux-granata metallizzato con, all'interno, qualche glitter dello stesso tono. Purtroppo, questo smalto è davvero incasinato da fotografare, ho cercato qualche immagine in rete che fosse fedele ma non ho trovato niente di esatto. Per cui, date un'occhiata all'immagine qui sopra e all'ultima in fondo, per avere idea del colore giusto.
Ad ogni modo, ho deciso di fare un'accent con, sull'anulare, una base di nero opaco sulla quale ho fatto dei puntini con il Sugar Sugar.

Sinful Colors 839 Sugar Sugar, a metallic maroon-garnet lacquer with some tone-sur-tone glitters. Sadly, that is an absolute madness to take photos of it so I've search in the net but, sadly, I didn't find colour accurated photos. So, take another look at the previous photo and to the last one, because they are!
BTW, I've chosen to create an accent manicure with, on the ring finger nail, a matte black base over which I've created dots with Sugar Sugar.

E ora, ecco la versione con l'anulare glossato e -quasi perfettamente- accurata cromaticamente!

Giardino d'Inverno #02 [Tecnica Nail Art] - Ciaté Chalkboard Manicure™

Anche quest'oggi ho deciso di seguire il tema di oggi, proposto da Piola, ovvero una tecnica nail art.
E la mia nail art è sotto "™", ovvero...

And my pick for today is a "™"...

Ciaté Chalkboard Manicure.
Set che si propone di ricreare un effetto lavagna sulle unghie, grazie a:

Ciaté Chalkboard Manicure.
This set helps to recreate a chalkboard effect over the nails, thanks to:

Chalkboard Pain Pot, ovvero un nero matte, 4 pennarelli a base d'acqua (qualcuno ha detto "uni posca"?) nelle colorazioni Satchel (bianco), Recess (giallo), Teacher's Pet (azzurro) e Jump Rope (rosa) e a Mattnificent, un top coat matte.
Come funziona il tutto?

Chalkboard Paint Pot, black matte nail polish, 4 water based colours (did anyone say "uni posca"?) in shades Satchel (white), Recess (yellow), Teacher's Pet (light blue) and Jump Rope (pink) and Mattnificent, a matte top coat.
How does this work?

Prima di tutto, si stende il nero matte.

First thing: 2 coats of matte black.

Successivamente, bisogna disegnare liberamente con i pennarelli.

Second step: doodle with coloured pens over nails.

E infine, via di matte top coat!
Come vedete, hanno quasi tutti dato giù colore (e ho passato il TC dopo 35 minuti rispetto ai pennarelli)... la durata è bassina ma l'effetto è carino (e facilmente ricreabile).
Il top coat è molto carino, così come la base... ma la durata è *davvero* bassa.
Vi lascio alle fanciulle, che troverete qui sotto, ora devo scappare, domani passo a trovarvi :)

And last, matte top coat!
As you can see, the pens have bleeded with the top coat (which I've put after over 35minutes)... this mani doesn't last much but it is quite cute (and you can recreate it... it's super easy).
The top coat is very cute, as the base... but the lasting is *really* low.

Shaka 740 Dark Acquamarine

Mentre io sono sicuramente sommersa dai libri, in questo momento, ecco per voi uno swatch... differente.
Ma parliamo prima del protagonista.

While I am studying like hell, right now, here's a different swatch.
But here's the major guest, first.

Lui è lo Shaka 740, alias Dark Acquamarine, uno foil à-la-Zoya dall'interessantissimo color petrolio.
Solo che è leggermente sheer e, senza base, risulta decisamente più tendente al verde che al blu.
Ma, come saprete, il mio color preferito è il blu. E quale maniera migliore di farlo risaltare se non su una base scura (nera... a dire il vero, con glitterini olografici ma tanto sono stati uccisi dal layering)?
E quest'azione mi ha anche salvato le unghie: Dark Acquamarine macchia le unghie solo a pensarlo.
Ma ecco le foto: tutte con base nera ad eccezione dell'anulare, sul quale ho steso il Dark Aquamarine da solo.

This is Shaka 740, a.k.a. Dark Acquamarine (yup, with the "c" too), a teal foil Zoya-style lacquer.
Hence this is a bit sheer, without a base, it seems to be much greener than blue.
So, you might know, my fav colour is blue. And what best way to enhance blue if not layering it over a black base (yeah, it had holo glitter too but they were killed by the layering)?
And this layer saved my nails: Dark Acquamarine stains so badly.
And here there are the photos: every nails has the dark base, besides the ring finger nail, where I'm wearing Dark Acquamarine alone.

Super brief post, I am super busy right now (studying, always)...
But I wish to say a word or two about...

Kiko Quick Dry 838 Verde Petrolio.
Attenzione: in realtà è un pelino più verde rispetto alle foto. Ed è decisamente scuro, ma dipende un po' anche dalla luce.
Eccolo in due mani dopo tre giorni senza top coat.

Kiko Quick Dry 838 Teal Green.
N.B.: IRL is a bit greener than the pictures. It's really dark but that depends on the illumination. BTW, that is not "teal", IMHO.
Here it is, after 3 days of wearing without top coat. Two coats.

Momentaneamente, questa linea è in offerta (credo che la stiano eliminando) a solo 1,90€ a boccetta, fateci un pensierino... intanto vi posso dire che l'asciugatura è normale, per lo meno per l'838, ha una durata piuttosto buona e ha quei pennellino larghi e arrotondati (che, personalmente, non amo).
Ma il colore è bellissimo!
Fatemi sapere cosa ne pensate, sotto :)

Right now, Quick Dry lacquers are on sale for 1,90€ a bottle, think about that... for now, I can say that the drying time is normal, at least for 838, its lasting is quite good and it has one of those large rounded brushes (which I do not love).
But the colour is beautiful!

Welcome to this brand new twinsie posts serie, thanks to Francine.
This time, the finishes are: matte, satin, suede and textured (no glitter).
The name of this appointment? Giardino d'Inverno (Winter Garden).

La mia prima scelta è ricaduta sul Sinful Colors 940 (Matte) Rise & Shine, un suede (=matte con shimmer) dal color Sailor Jupiter (sì, questa definizione è altamente ricercata).

My first choice is Sinful Colors 940 (Matte) Rise & Shine, a suede (=matte plus shimmer) lacquer.
The colour? Sailor Jupiter's (yeah, highly affected definition).

One coater, nelle mie immagini lo vedete sopra due mani di Can't Find My Czechbook (e così non mi sono macchiata le unghiette).
La novità di questa serie di twinsie post è che, volendo, si può seguire un tema, proposto dalle altre ragazze. Questa settimana, Silvia ha proposto l'inverno. Per rimanere in tema, ho stampato dei fiocchi di neve con un altro Sinful Colors matte, il Savage.

One coater, here is over two coats of Can't find my Czechbook (and so I didn't stained my nails).
This twinsie post bring a new: there is a theme, which is facultative. This week, is "winter" time, thanks to Silvia. So, I've stamped some snowflakes using another matte Sinful Colors, Savage.

I was eager to show you the first lacquer I've weared in this 2014.
So, here I am :)

O·P·I Can't Find My Czechbook (NL E75) è un color uovo di pettirosso scuro ed è lo smalto che più aveva catturato la mia attenzione, nella collezione Euro Centrale (assieme al I saw...U saw...We saw...Warsaw, arriverà presto anche lui).
Poco da dire, le foto parlano da sole:

O·P·I Can't Find My Czechbook (NL E75) is a slightly dark robin's egg blue lacquer, the ones that have caught my eye most along its Euro Centrale collection (along with I saw...U saw...We saw...Warsaw, coming soon).
And I don't have to explain why, just take a look at the photos:

Insomma, che ne pensate?
Applicazione da sogno, asciugatura molto rapida, durata molto buona e opaco in 2 passate.
Cosa si potrebbe desiderare di più?

So, what do you think?
Flawless application, quick drying time, long lasting and opaque within 2 coats.

My New Year's Eve Mani (Black & Gold studs and glitter gradient)

Come avrete notato, mi sono goduta le feste :)
Ma rieccomi col mio super rapidissimo post di inizio anno, per mostrarvi delle (orrende) foto della mia mani di capodanno - scusate la pessima qualità-.
Partiamo dal dire che indossavo questa maglia -> QUI.
Per cui, ho deciso di abbinare anche le unghie. Oltre che tutto il resto (ero in oro e nero da capo a piedi).

As you might have noticed, I've enjoyed the holidays :)
But here I am, back with a brief post to show a few (hideous) photos about my New Year's party mani. Sorry for the poor quality.
Let's start by saying that I was wearing this sweater -> HERE.
So, I've tried to replicate that somehow over my nails. And the rest (I was gold and black from head to feet).

L'ultima foto è dopo quattro giorni.
Sostanzialmente, ho steso una mano di base nera, ho tentato una gradient glitter oro e ho replicato la maglia usando le perline per la caviar dorate.
Che ne dite?
Vi piace???

The last photo is after 4 days of wearing.
So, how did I do that? I've used a black lacquer as base, I've tried a gold glitter gradient and I've used the gold caviar beads for an accent to recreate the sweater.

And this year I'm going to too plus I have the whole 2013 haul.
But since the make up part is shorter, I'm going to start with that.

Sopra vedete le palette che ho portato a casa in questo 2013 (la MUFE Midnight Glow mi è stata regalata dalla mia migliore amica).
Le mie preferite di tutto l'anno?

Above you can see the palettes that arrived in my home in this 2013 (the MUFE Midnight Glow palette was the Christmas gift from my best friend).

Queste sono quelle che ho più usato: Urban Decay Naked, Naked 2, Glinda, Vice 2, Make Up For Ever La Bohème ed Estée Lauder Pretty Naughty.

01· Textured polishes, here you see Zoya Liberty because it was my first textured and still my favourite one. 
I've chosen not to repeat my 2012 favourites (in this 2013 I've used 'til boring both FeiFei and holographic nail polices).
