Today I want to share some gift boxes with you.

Per creare lo stamping di oggi ho utilizzato diverse plate di MoYou London: le Festive 03 e 34 e la Happy Birthday 01, dalle quali ho scelto i pattern a pacchetto regalo.

To create today's stamping nail art I've used some MoYou London plates: Festive 03 and 34 and Happy Birthday 01 plates - from these I've chosen the gifts patterns.

Lo smalto di base è il CbL Amethyst Glow, pensato per lo stamping ma bellissimo anche come base, sul quale ho stampato utilizzando il Colour Alike B. A Fairy Forest.

The base nail lacquer is CbL Amethyst Glow, which was designed as stamping polish and beautiful on its own, over which I've stamped using Colour Alike B. A Fairy Forest.

O·P·I This Color's Making Waves & Upcoming Collection(s)

Oggi post un po' speciale, perché condivido con voi delle novità in casa O·P·I.
Probabilmente già saprete quanto io ami questo brand americano che propone continuamente collezioni in cui almeno un paio di boccette (a volte anche 8-10) catturano particolarmente la mia attenzione.
Intanto, ecco a voi il mio preferito dell'ultimissima collezione Hawaiana!

Today I have a special kind of post: on the last part of this post I share some of the latest news from O·P·I.
You might already know how much I love this american brand which renew its collection every couple of months or so with so many interesting bottles and shades.
For now, here is my favourite lacquer out of the latest Hawaii collection!

Ok, sul mio dialetto degli appunti ho segnato che questo O·P·I This Color's Making Waves è un azzurro-verde-blu metallico leggermente duochrome con riflessi dorati e shimmer sparsi arancioni (questi ultimi si notano maggiormente nelle foto in ombra). 3 passate in foto, ma con due mani abbondanti non era male. Asciugatura rapida.

Well, on my note diary I've written about it "O·P·I This Color's Making Waves is a blu-green metallic slightly duochrome lacquer with golden glares and a few orange shimmers" (you might be able to see those shimmers in the in-the-shades photos). 3 coats for these photos but two thick coats would be enough, IMHO. Quick drying time.

I primi segni di tip wear si sono presentati attorno al quinto giorno ma dopo 8 giorni era ancora indossabile, nonostante tutto.
Ed ecco un rapido tentativo di stamping con fiori simili all'ibisco con il suo fratello Hello Hawaii Ya?.

First tip wears came on the fifth day but after 8 days my nail were quite good, after all.
And here's a brief stamping attempt with its sibling Hello Hawaii Ya?.

Infine, ecco le novità. Oltre alle già presentate Hawaii e alla Infinite Shine (vi rimando al blog di Natalia - Polished Polyglot per maggiori info), c'erano gli smalti chiari e adatti a tutte della Soft Shades. In più, la prossima collezione autunnale sarà dedicata alla nostra Venezia! Purtroppo mentre fotografavo si sono piantate delle persone davanti a me, per cui ho la collezione completa divisa in tre foto differenti, ecco quella che forse è venuta meglio. Infine, la Color Paints! Questa mi ispira tantissimo: è una sorta di evoluzione della collezione Sheer Tints, dove i colori sono dichiarati blendable, mescolabili. Insomma: aggiungendo colori diversi si andranno a mescolare le tinte, così da creare nail art semplici ma d'effetto in un batter d'occhio.

And here are the news. Besides the already known Hawaii and Infinite Shine (see Natalia's Polished Polyglot blog for further infos), there were the pale shades from the new Soft Shades. Then, there was the next Autumn 2015 collection: all about our Venice! Sadly while I was taking shots there were people which stand right there so this collection is splitted in three different photos in my laptop, here you can see what I think was the best one. Last but not least, the Color Paints collection! I want those shades so badly: they are some sort of new, improved version of Sheer Tints shades. These Color Paints are sold as blendable so you add different shades and they blend to create the new one. So: great nail art with minimum effort.

E per oggi è tutto! Quali fra le novità vi ispirano maggiormente? Qual è la vostra boccetta preferita della collezione Hawaii? E cosa ne pensate di questo This Color's Making Waves???

...Monopoly! Conosciuto anche come Monòpoli nel Bel Paese causa leggi del regime fascista, dal 2009 è venduto con la "y", riprendendo il nome originale grazie alla Hasbro, nuova editrice in Italia (curiosità: io ho la versione old-style con la scatola in legno, edito dalla Parker).
Non mi dilungo nel descrivere questo gioco ispirato ad Atlantic City che sicuramente la gran parte di voi conosceranno a menadito, gioco con una probabile aleatoria che regna sovrana e per il quale ogni giocatore si è sicuramente infastidito almeno una volta nella propria vita.

...Monopoly!
Which I won't describe because this Atlantic City-inspired dice-ruled game is surely known by most of you. I know this translation is much shorter than the Italian version, this is because in the other version I've added some Italian curiosity about this game.

La mia nail art è ispirata alla casella degli imprevisti, della centrale elettrica, alla locomotiva - la mia pedina preferita e simbolo di Monopoly - e al parco della Vittoria con i due dadi che segnano lo stesso numero, casualità che permette di ritirare i dadi (max 3 volte) e di eventualmente uscire dalla prigione.

My nail art is inspired by the chance space as well as the electric central space, by the steam locomotive - my fav token and the one that is also Monopoly symbol - and by Boardwalk (Mayfair in the UK version) with a couple of same number dice, which lets you throw one more time them (max 3 times) and eventually exit from the prison.

Questa volta ho utilizzato smalti di brand differenti, che potete vedere nell'immagine con la plancia, più sopra. La base è MI-NY 25 Glam F. Green, il rosso è il Kiko 236 Rosso Geranio Orange Red, il giallo neon è Jessica 092 Yellow Flame e il blu è MI-NY 174 Ocean; infine, il bianco è Sinful Colors 101 Snow Me White.
Cosa ne pensate, vi piace? E il Monopoly?

This time I've picked mixed brands, which you can see on the board photo, above.
The base colour is MI-NY 25 Glam F. Green, the red one is Kiko 236 Orange Red, the neon yellow is Jessica 092 Yellow Flame and the blue one is MI-NY 174 Ocean; last, the white is Sinful Colors 101 Snow Me White.

Oggi è di turno il metallizzato (o metallico che dir si voglia).
Questo finish è abbastanza intuibile: unghie che sembrino metallo. Normalmente, questo finish è rappresentato dai "classici" oro, argento, bronzo e rame.
Gli altri colori, sembrano quasi dei foil. MA ci sono anche colori diversi.
Io oggi ve lo mostro in blu!

Friday! Welcome to today's Finishpedia post!
Today we see metallic, an easy to understand finish: molten metal over your nails. Usually they are "classic" colours like gold, silver, bronze or copper.
The other shades are usually foil lacquers. BUT there are colours, indeed!
And today I have a blue one!

Mi-ny Glam Lacquer 42 Calla Lily

Come anticipato ieri, oggi è tempo di... verde!

As I was saying yesterday, today's colour is... green!

Yeee, e vi parlo di un mi-ny, il numero 42 alias Calla Lily.
Ora arriva la parte difficile. In genere, non sono una grande fan del colore verde... so che ne esistono mille mila varietà ma non so come descriverlo. Perdonatemi e accettate un misero "verde bottiglia scuro" metallizzato.

Yeee, and I'm going to talk you about a mi-ny lacquer, number 42 a.k.a. Calla Lily.
And now comes the difficult part. Generally, I'm not huge fan of green shades... I know there are thousands of shades but I really don't know how to describe it. Forgive me and accept a poor metallic "dark bottle green".

Mi-ny è un brand italiano (qualcuno ha detto "Bergamo, come sempre"?) di cosmetici - smalti in primis - che stanno iniziando a vedersi in giro, soprattutto nei blog. Sì, soprattutto nei blog perché, purtroppo, al di là del sito ufficiale, si trovano solo nei (pochi) punti vendita monomarca.
Il prezzo è medio-basso, per essere in Italia (3,90€ per gli smalti della linea "normale", con alcune eccezioni di  4,90€, fra i quali anche i sabbiati, e 5,40€ per una delle sei boccette di olografici; al momento c'è anche un'edizione limitata disponibile a 9,90€ a boccetta), la qualità medio-alta (più tendente all' "alto"). Le boccette contengono 11mL, hanno un pennellino sottile e lungo molto maneggevole. Sono facili da stendere, asciugano mediamente velocemente e hanno una buona durata.
Recentemente ho acquistato "alcune" (15) boccette per provare bene questo brand, quindi aspettatevi nuovi post a riguardo.
Per ora, fatemi sapere che ne pensate, se ne possedete o se sareste curiose di averne!

Mi-ny is an italian cosmetics brand with an eye for lacquers.
Recently, you are able to see this brand in italian blogs more than IRL because, besides the official web page, there are not many brand stores.
The price, here, is medium-low range (3,90€ for classic nail polishes with some exceptions for 4,90€, as sand effect, 5,40€ for a bottle of holographic lacquer - there are six shades; now, there is also a limited edition for 9,90€ each bottle), the quality is medium-high range (more "high" than "medium"). The bottles contains 11mL and have a long thin brush which I like very much.
The application is very easy and comfy, drying time is nice and the lasting is very good.
Lately, I've bought "some" (15) bottles to try this brand better, so wait for some other posts.
But now, let me know what do you think about it, if you own any mi-ny lacquers or would to!

Birthstone Challenge: Garnet - Sinful Colors 839 Sugar Sugar

E benvenuti, quest'oggi, al primo di una serie di 12 post a cadenza mensile ideati da Ere ♡
Il titolo di questa Challenge? Birthstone Challenge.
Sostanzialmente, ispirati dalla pietra mensile, ogni terzo lunedì posteremo qualcosa di inerente.
Gennaio è il mese del granato, tipicamente immaginato rosso ma, in natura, esistente in diversi colori (googlare per credere).
Ma io mi sono attenuta all'immaginazione collettiva è ho puntato su...

Welcome to the first (out of 12) monthly post, created after Ere's idea ♡
The title? Birthstone Challenge.
The thing works like this: every third Monday of the month we'll post something about the month's gem.
January is garnet month, usually thought like a red gem but, you have to know, you can find it in different shades, in nature (check out google images).
But I went for the classic one with...

Sinful Colors 839 Sugar Sugar, un colore tendente al bordeaux-granata metallizzato con, all'interno, qualche glitter dello stesso tono. Purtroppo, questo smalto è davvero incasinato da fotografare, ho cercato qualche immagine in rete che fosse fedele ma non ho trovato niente di esatto. Per cui, date un'occhiata all'immagine qui sopra e all'ultima in fondo, per avere idea del colore giusto.
Ad ogni modo, ho deciso di fare un'accent con, sull'anulare, una base di nero opaco sulla quale ho fatto dei puntini con il Sugar Sugar.

Sinful Colors 839 Sugar Sugar, a metallic maroon-garnet lacquer with some tone-sur-tone glitters. Sadly, that is an absolute madness to take photos of it so I've search in the net but, sadly, I didn't find colour accurated photos. So, take another look at the previous photo and to the last one, because they are!
BTW, I've chosen to create an accent manicure with, on the ring finger nail, a matte black base over which I've created dots with Sugar Sugar.

E ora, ecco la versione con l'anulare glossato e -quasi perfettamente- accurata cromaticamente!

Shaka 740 Dark Acquamarine

Benvenuti a questo post programmato.
Mentre io sono sicuramente sommersa dai libri, in questo momento, ecco per voi uno swatch... differente.
Ma parliamo prima del protagonista.

While I am studying like hell, right now, here's a different swatch.
But here's the major guest, first.

Lui è lo Shaka 740, alias Dark Acquamarine, uno foil à-la-Zoya dall'interessantissimo color petrolio.
Solo che è leggermente sheer e, senza base, risulta decisamente più tendente al verde che al blu.
Ma, come saprete, il mio color preferito è il blu. E quale maniera migliore di farlo risaltare se non su una base scura (nera... a dire il vero, con glitterini olografici ma tanto sono stati uccisi dal layering)?
E quest'azione mi ha anche salvato le unghie: Dark Acquamarine macchia le unghie solo a pensarlo.
Ma ecco le foto: tutte con base nera ad eccezione dell'anulare, sul quale ho steso il Dark Aquamarine da solo.

This is Shaka 740, a.k.a. Dark Acquamarine (yup, with the "c" too), a teal foil Zoya-style lacquer.
Hence this is a bit sheer, without a base, it seems to be much greener than blue.
So, you might know, my fav colour is blue. And what best way to enhance blue if not layering it over a black base (yeah, it had holo glitter too but they were killed by the layering)?
And this layer saved my nails: Dark Acquamarine stains so badly.
And here there are the photos: every nails has the dark base, besides the ring finger nail, where I'm wearing Dark Acquamarine alone.
