FINISHPEDIA: Flakies - Color Club The Uptown

con imbarazzante ritardo - chiedo scusa alle amiche che partecipano a questo appuntamento - ecco il mio post dedicato alla nostra FinishPedia e al finish per questa settimana: i flakies!
Ma cosa sono i flakies? Sono smalti che presentano scagliette irregolari - spesso cangianti - in una base jelly e, molto spesso, talmente sheer da dover utilizzarli per layering, come per lo smalto che vi mostro qui. Ma ci sono anche smalti flakies non obbligatoriamente da stratificare, come il MI-NY I Love Milano, l'O·P·I Merry Midnight e il Layla Butterfly Effect.

I'm so sorry to be so late... here's my Finishpedia post of the week. Today we have flakies lacquers to show you!
What are flakies lacquers? Well, they have a jelly/sheer base with opalescent particles. They are often to layer, such as what I'm going to share, but sometimes they can be opaque, such as MI-NY I Love Milano, O·P·I Merry Midnight and Layla Butterfly Effect.

Lui è il Color Club The Uptown (versione originale), flakies oro/arancioni/verdi su base viola jelly.
Eccolo in 5 mani sottili senza base colorata.

This is Color Club The Uptown (original version), gold/orange/green flakies in a purple jelly base.
Here it is, 5 very thin coats without base colour.

Ecco invece come appare sopra a delle basi colorate (Sinful Colors Snow Me White, Color Club Where's The Soiree?, O·P·I Do You Vant To Bite My Neck? e O·P·I He Blue It This Time!).

Here it is, over some colored base (Sinful Colors Snow Me White, Color Club Where's The Soiree?, O·P·I Do You Vant To Bite My Neck? and O·P·I He Blue It This Time!)

E, infine, con una passata di top coat matt.

And, last but not least, with a matt top coat.

Lui è stato riformulato in una seconda versione non altrettanto bella e non flakies! Lo sapevate? Guardate QUA.

Today I want to share a brief post about a not-that-quick nail art.

L'idea era quella di ricreare l'effetto vetri infranti sulle unghie, la realizzazione è avvenuta pescando i singoli flake dalla boccetta del Color Club Covered In Diamonds e andarli a piazzare dove desideravo, sopra alla mia base nera, il Layla CE 31.
Cosa ne pensate?

The idea was to recreate a shattered glass effect on nails, using Color Club Covered In Diamonds and the flakes in it to put them on my nails, over my black base, Layla CE 31.

Ciaté Mini Mani Manor Advent Calendar - Day 17-24

Today is time to end my Ciaté Mini Mani Manor 2014 Advent calendar.
The two previous posts are HERE and HERE.

Ma prima, ecco il collage delle ultime 8 finestrelle.

But, first, a collage of what is going to be next.

La 17° giornata celava Apple & Custard, una crema verde che vedete in 2 passate (3 sul medio).

The 17th window was hiding Apple & Custard, a green créme (2 coats, 3x over middle).

Confetti, glitter olografico, era in wish list da un po', ma per mia fortuna era anche in questo calendario.
Sotto lo vedete in una passata sopra Apple & Custard e Talent Scout.

Confetti, a glitter holographic topper, was on WL since quite a lot of time.
Below, over Apple & Custard and Talent Scout.

Talent Scout è una crema viola che ricorda molto il Kiko 292, sotto due passate.

Talent Scout, a violet créme, reminds me a lot of Kiko 292, two coats.

Slumber Party sono dei glitter liberi olografici neri.

Slumber Party are free black holographic glitters.

La 21° casellina celava i nail transfer Fair Isle Style che, temo, giaceranno inutilizzati... mi sentirei in colpa ad utilizzarli.

The 21st window was hiding this Fair Isle Style nail transfer which I believe will be untouched... I would feel guilty using them.

Power Dressing è un crelly blu bellissimo (3x sul medio e 2x sulle altre unghie) che vedete swatchato sopra la nail art che indossavo precedentemente (per questa ragione, se ingrandite la foto vedrete dei fiocchi di neve stampati sotto).

Power Dressing is a gorgeous blue crelly (3x on the middle and 2x on the other nails) which you see swatched over my previously worn nail art (so if you enlarge the photo will see some snowflakes stamped below).

Mistress è un crelly rosso. Due passate.

Mistress is a red crelly. Two coats.

Infine, l'esclusivo Celestial, composto da flakies e glitter olografici e da shimmer blu/viola, eccolo in una passata sopra a Power Dressing e, più in sotto, due mani da solo (indice) e una su Mistress.

Last but not least, the exclusive Celestial, made with holographic glitters and flakies and blu/purple shimmer. Below one coat over Power Dressing and alone (pointer, two coats) and over Mistress (one coat).

OK, tempo di tirare le somme.
Celestial è il mio preferito in assoluto, ma mi sono piaciuti un sacco anche Mineral Love, Knee Highs ed Espadrilles. I vostri preferiti?
Adesso scappo a finire di preparare per il cenone, ci vediamo domani per gli auguri!

Ok, now let's go to the point.
Celestial is my all time fav, but I really like Mineral Love, Knee Highs and Espadrilles too. Which are your favs?
Now I need to run away to get our huge dinner ready, read you tomorrow for the whishes!

E ad ottobre il protagonista è l'opale, pietra stupenda facilmente riproponibile sulle nostre unghie quotidianamente grazie all'enorme numero di topper presenti sul mercato. Oggi voglio condividere con voi uno dei miei preferiti.

The gem of October is Opal, gorgeous stone easily makable over your own nails thanks to the huge amount of flakes topper on sale at the moment. Today I want to share one of my favourites.

Lui è il MI-NY 247 I Love London, un topper flakies opalescente con shimmer blu.
Di seguito, lo potete vedere sopra a una base nera, una viola e una blu, colori di base ispirati ad opali colorati. La base azzurra è Giotto, utilizzato nell'intento di ricreare l'effetto nella boccetta. Fail!

It is MI-NY 247 I Love London, an opalescent flakes topper with blue shimmer.
Below, it's over a black, a purple and a blue base, all shades inspired by colored opals. The light blue is Giotto, used to recreate the effect of the bottle. Fail!

Di seguito, doppio fail!
Ho provato a mattificare ma ho dimenticato quanto poco mi piacesse il Mattnificent di Ciaté, che fa quasi un effetto crackle. Tristezza.

Below, double fail!
I've tried to mattified all but I've forgotten how few I like Ciaté Mattnificent which creates an almost crackle effect. Sadness.

MI-NY 245 I Love Milano

Come avete iniziato questa settimana?
Oggi voglio mostrarvi uno degli smalti più belli e particolari, secondo i miei gusti, del range MI-NY.

Good morning!
How did you start this week?
Today I'm going to show you one out of my top 5 MI-NY range lacquers.

Sto parlando del numero 245, nominato I Love Milano.
Uno smalto viola strapieno di microglitter argentati e mini flakies rosso/arancioni e blu.
E' simile all'O·P·I Merry Midnight, solo più scuro, con flakies più piccoli e meno microglitter.

I am talking about number 245 a.k.a. I Love Milano.
It's a purple lacquer full of silver micro-glitters and red/orange and blue mini-flakies.
It's similar to O·P·I Merry Midnight, just darker, with littler flakes and less micro-glitters.

L'applicazione è a prova di mani ciompe (vedi "le mie"), asciugatura normale e la durata - a memoria - s'attestata sui 4 giorni pressoché perfetto, prima di togliere lo smalto.
Stra promosso!
Cosa ne pensate?

Smooth application, normal drying time and it's lasted 4 days almost perfect, before removing it.
For me, is a YAY!

NYC 010 Top Of The Gold top coat

Insomma: quando pensate a Klimt, cos'è la prima cosa che vi viene in mente se non le foglie d'oro?

Yup, because I was willing to show you a bottle which I would have loved to put in my Klimt mani.
Just think: what's the first thing that shows up in your mind when you hear "Klimt" if not his golden leafs?

Ecco, NYC ha messo sul mercato il suo Top Coat 010 Top Of The Gold, un topper a base trasparente con foglie d'oro.
Ok, non è la qualità che potreste trovare in topper come The Man With The Golden Gun di O·P·I, ma è un buon compromesso economico (€ 1,99).

Well, NYC has released its Top Coat 010 Top Of The Gold, a see-through topper with golden leafs.
OK, the quality is not what you might find in bottles like O·P·I The Man With The Golden Gun but it's extremely cheap ($ 1,99).

Ad eccezione del bianco (Sinful Colors Snow Me White), le altre basi sono tutte Kiko (388 - 340 - 344).
Nelle foto sottostanti, invece, sono tutte Kiko, senza eccezioni (292 - 294 - 275 - 296):

Above, they are all Kiko base colours (388 - 340 - 344) with the exception of the white which is Sinful Color (Snow Me White).

Personalmente, la mia versione preferita è quella sull'azzurro pastello.
