Urban Decay Vice 3

Dopo circa un mese di presenza a casuccia, è ora di condividere l'ultima palette acquistata.
Signore e signori, ecco a voi... La Vice 3!

After of almost a month of living together, is now time to share the latest palette bought.
Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome... Vice 3!

Sulla palette c'è scritto ovunque semplicemente "Vice" ma noi sappiamo essere la "3" (anche perché così viene riportata sul sito Urban Decay), identica alle sue sorelle maggiori ma spessa la metà e senza la comoda apertura "automatizzata" della Vice 2.

On the palette there is written just "Vice" but we know it's the third (also because on Urban Decay website it is called "Vice 3"), with the same-shaped packaging of its older siblings but slimmer and without the useful "automatic" opening system from Vice 2.

I 20 ombretti (0.8g l'uno) dalla texture vellutata sono esclusivi di questa palette - per ora - e sono stati divisi per colonne: neutri a sinistra, toni gioiello al centro e smoky a destra.
Oltre al pennello doppio (non è malvagio) e al solito maxi specchio, questa volta la palette arriva con una pochettina comodissima da tenere in borsa con tutto il necessario per il trucco o, beh, come semplice bustina.
Ma passiamo agli ombretti (in foto vedrete swatch al sole-ombretti nella palette-swatch all'ombra):
Truth - nudo chiarissimo con shimmer rosa;
Dragon - verde prato;
Vampy - melanzana leggermente shimmer;
Alien - duocrhome rosa/pesca;
Last Sin - bronzo chiaro shimmer (leggermente più scuro/caldo del permanente "Sin").

The 20 .03 oz velvety, never-before-seen shades are arranged in columns: neutrals on the left, jewel tones in the middle and smoky shades on the right.
Beside the double-ended-brush (not that bad) and the huge mirror, this time no primer at all bit you find a zipped bag in which you can put the palette or your make up.
But let's see the shades (you're going to see swatch in the sun-palette-swatch in the shades):
Truth - pale pink-nude matte;
Dragon - bright metallic green shimmer;
Vanity - smoky metallic eggplant w/ multidimensional micro-glitter;
Alien - pink-peach w/ golden shift;
Last Sin - champagne shimmer w/ silver micro-glitter (slightly darker/warmer than permanent "Sin").

Undone - taupe rosato shimmer;
Freeze - azzurro cielo metallizzato;
Lucky - rame metallizzato (pigmentatissimo);
Alchemy - rosso scuro (non è dupe di Last Call in quanto più chiaro e intenso);
Angel - mix bronzo/oro con glitterini.

Undone - pink-beige matte-satin w/ subtle floating tonal pearl;
Freeze - metallic medium blue w/ multidimensional micro-glitter;
Lucky - metallic bronze (very high pigmentation);
Alchemy - deep fuchsia satin (not dupe of Last Call since Alchemy it's lighter and more intense);
Angel - light taupe w/ silver micro-glitter.

Downfall - nudo medio matte;
Heroine - blu navy con shimmer blu (il meno pigmentato della palette);
Reign - marrone metallizzato;
Bondage - melanzana scuro;
Defy - grigio medio con una punta di lilla matte.

Downfall - warm light brown matte;
Heroine - deep navy blue w/ subtle floating tonal pearl (worst pigmentation in the palette);
Reign - rich brown satin;
Bondage - deep, smoky burgundy shimmer;
Defy - smoky taupe satin.

DTF - taupe con un tocco di viola shimmer;
Brokedown - bronzo metallizzato;
Bobby Dazzle - bianco freddo shimmer;
Sonic - rosso rame metallizzato;
Revolver - grigio canna di fucile con una punta di blu.

DTF - taupe matte w/ subtle floating pearl;
Brokedown - metallic golden brown shimmer w/ gold micro-glitter;
Bobby Dazzle - metallic white w/ pale gold micro-glitter;
Sonic - metallic red-copper;
Revolver - soft black satin w/ subtle floating iridescent pearl.

Tutti gli ombretti hanno una pigmentazione molto alta con un paio di eccezioni (Heroine e Bobby Dazzle). Personalmente, l'avrei bilanciata differentemente, magari inserendo un teal simile a Deep End, un viola intenso come Flash e magari un altro tipo di verde.
Ma, tutto sommato, ha colori perfetti sia per la primavera che per le stagioni fredde.
Ad ogni modo, non posso che consigliarla, se vi piace, io mi ci sto trovando bene (nonostante i vari toni sul rosso). Ovviamente, Freeze è il mio ombretto preferito, ma mi piace molto anche la colonna a destra.
Infine, vi ricordo che è in edizione limitata!
Fatemi sapere cosa ne pensate, che combinazioni usereste, i vostri ombretti preferiti, se ce l'avete o ve la farete regalare magari per Natale ;)

All these shades are highly pigmentated with a couple of "black sheep" (Heroine and Bobby Dazzle).
Personally, I would have balanced the shades in a different way, like adding a teal like Deep End, an intense purple like Flash and maybe another kind of green.
But, after all, the whole combination of shades makes this palette perfect for both spring and cold seasons.
If you like it, I would recommend to buy it because I am really liking it (too much red, though).
Obviously, my favourite shade is Freeze but I like the right column too.
Last but not least, I have to remember that is a limited edition!

Urban Decay Vice 2

Oggi vi voglio parlare della (pen)ultima palette che è arrivata a casa, la Vice 2 del mio brand cosmetico preferito, Urban Decay.

Today I want to talk you about the (second to) latest palette that has arrived here, at my home, the Vice 2 from my favourite make up brand, Urban Decay.

Ok, questa monumentale palette, chiusa, misura circa 14x18x2 cm, contiene 20 ombretti da 0,8 g cadauno ed è accompagnato da un doppio pennello.
La palette si apre mediante la pressione di un "bottone" (="pulsante", credo che "bottone", in questo senso, sia regionale ahah) e ciò garantisce che non vi spezziate le unghie in questa manovra.
Una volta aperta, la palette si presenta come sopra, con un enorme specchio che si ferma alzando leggermente la base e creando un angolo di circa 75° davanti a voi, in modo che sia il più comodo possibile per usufruire di lui.

OK, this enormous palette has this sizes, more or less: 14x18x2 cm, contains 20 0,8g eye shadows and has a double ended brush.
Once opened, thanks to the nail friendly button, the mirror will create a 75° angle that will rise a bit of the palette, becoming perfect to be used.

I 20 ombretti sono molto pigmentati, ben equilibrati e inediti.

The 20 eye shadow are highly pigmented, nicely balanced and exclusive.

Smokeout: taupe molto scuro satinato;
Lovesick: nero con micro glitter iridescenti;
Shellshock: argento metallizzato intenso;
Coax: rosa metallizzato con shimmer dorato e iridescente;
X-Rated: rosa confetto satinato.

Smokeout: dark taupey-black satin (all the colour descriptions are from urban decay.com);
Lovesick: black matte with iridescent micro-glitter;
Shellshock: bright metallic silver;
Coax: medium metallic pink with golden iridescent micro-sparkle;
X-Rated: baby pink satin.

Prank: navy scuro a base matte con perlescenze verdi (duochrome "strano", è come se fosse layerizzato);
Madness: azzurro scuro metallizzato;
Strike: oro antico;
Stash: verde oliva shimmer con shimmer iridescente;
Poison: carbone con shimmer iridescenti.

Prank: deep navy matte with turquoise floating pearl;
Madness: bright metallic blue shimmer with blue micro-glitter (I'm not sure about micro glitters, here...);
Strike: antique gold shimmer with silver micro-glitter (silver micro what?);
Stash: deep olive green shimmer with iridescent micro-sparkle;
Poison: charcoal satin with iridescent micro-sparkle.

Radar: marrone metallizzato con micro glitter iridescenti, attenzione al fall out;
Damaged: verde smeraldo intenso shimmer;
Voodoo: viola scuro metallizzato con micro glittter iridescenti (la maggioranza sono viola);
Betrayal: DUOCHROME viola-blu;
Derailed: marrone/taupe shimmer metallizzato.

Radar: metallic brown shimmer with iridescent micro-glitter;
Damaged: bright metallic emerald shimmer;
Voodoo: metallic purple shimmer with iridescent purple micro-glitter;
Betrayal: bright purple satin with blue shift;
Derailed: medium metallic taupey-brown shimmer.

Dope: rosa chiarissimo satinato;
Toxic: rame rosa shimmer con micro-glitter dello stesso colore;
Habit: nude chiaro matte (ok, su di me sembra scuro ma in realtà non lo è);
Ambush: marrone metallizzato;
Rewind: marrone freddo matte (sembra quasi taupe).
Come dicevo, sono tutti ben pigmentati ma menzione d'onore va fatta per: Shellshock, Coax, Damaged, Derailed, Toxic e Ambush, in quanto aventi un'iper pigmentazione fin dalla prima stesura anche senza base.

Dope: warm champagne satin;
Toxic: metallic copper-pink shimmer with tonal micro-glitter;
Habit: light nude matte.
Ambush: metallic brown satin;
Rewind: medium brown matte.
As I've just written, they are all highly pigmented but the ones with the most amazing iper pigmentation are: Shellshock, Coax, Damaged, Derailed, Toxic and Ambush.

Quest'ultima foto la voglio dedicare al pennello.
Personalmente, non l'ho ancora utilizzato. E poco m'ispira. E' la brutta copia di quello contenuto nella Naked 2. Molto brutta. Ok, la parte da ombretto, non è male, è simile al classico "Karma" (tipo quello contenuto nella versione "nuova" della prima Naked), solo meno pieno, leggermente più rigido.
La parte da sfumatura/piega dell'occhio, però, è tutto un altro paio di maniche: è qualcosa come la metà, in diametro, di quello nella suddetta Naked 2. Decisamente meno morbido, fra l'altro. Sono rimasta un po' "meh", riguardo a lui.
Vi rimando al post di Ere riguardo alla prima Vice che, casualmente, ha postato proprio la settimana scorsa!
Ora, che ne pensate della Vice 2?
La vorreste trovare sotto l'albero?
Cosa avreste modificato?
Trovate deludente che non vi abbiano nemmeno inserito una versione da viaggio di primer potion/matita/rossetto/lucidalabbra/matita labbra/ecc?

This last picture is just for the double ended brush.
IMHO, I've never used it, yet. And I'm not sure I will. It's the ugly brother of the one inside the Naked 2 palette. A lot uglier. OK, the shadow end it's not that bad, very similar to the classic "Karma" (like the one inside the "new" version of the first Naked), just less full, less fluffy.
The crease end... left me "meh". It is something like the half (diameter) of the Naked 2 brush'. And way less fluffy.

Urban Decay Addiction & Vice Nail Lacquers

Come da titolo, potrete immaginare il motivo così speciale perché ho deciso di pianificare questo post.
Sì, dopo un mese di amore, ho finalmente swatchato per voi i miei due adorati smalti Urban Decay (per chi non lo sapesse, il mio brand preferito di sempre nella cosmetica).
Ed eccoli qui!
Premetto, ci saranno anche parecchie immagini del packaging, vista la particolare cura che questa casa utilizza per il confezionamento.

As you might have guessed from the title, I have a special planned post for today.
Yup, after a month, I've finally swatched my Urban Decay's nail lacquers (my fav brand ever).
And here they are!
I've taken a lot of shot of the packaging because this brand has gorgeous ones, IMHO.

OK, come avrete immaginato dalle immagini e dal titolo, gli smalti, usciti in due sole versioni, si chiamano Addiction e Vice.
Ma quanto sono pucciosi i teschietti con le rose nelle cavità orbitali sulla parte superiore della boccetta?
Bene, partiamo da Addiction (le prime due immagini sono con luce naturale, le altre due con luce artificiale - 2 passate), smalto dalla consistenza un po' densa:

OK, as you might have understood from both pictures and title, the lacquers, on sale just with this range, are called Addiction and Vice.
How cute are those skulls with rose as eyes on the top of the bottles?
Well, let's start with Addiction (two photos under natural lights and two under artificial lights, in this order - 2 coats), which is a bit dense:

Che colore particolare non è?
Un canna di fucile dorato con micro particelle che creano un finish foil.
Diciamo che può sembrare il cugino del mio amato FeiFei (dupe: On Her Majesty's Secret Service), solo dal colore caldo.
Da quanto si può vedere in rete, credo possa essere dupe del Zoya Cassedy della collezione Zenith (Inverno 2013).
Passiamo a Vice:

This is a very peculiar shade, isn't it?
A gilded gunmetal with those gorgeous micro particles that create a foil finish.
This might be cousin of FeiFei's (dupe: On Her Majesty's Secret Service), just with a warmer colour.
As far as I can presume by the pictures around the net, I think that this might be dupe of Zoya Cassedy out of the Zenith collection (winter 2013).
Let's take a look at Vice:

Bene, questo è il viola Urban Decay, nella mia testa.
Ha queste particelle rosse in sé che lo rendono ancora più profondo.
Ha riacceso il mio amore nei confronti del viola, questo piccino!
Vice è un one coater (anche se nelle foto ne vedete due, di mani).
Ed ecco una foto extra per farvi vedere la durata dopo 6 giorni di utilizzo:

Well, in my mind this is Urban Decay purple.
It has red particles in it that make this colour much deeper.
This has renewed my love for purple lacquers!
Vice is a one coater (2 coats on my photos, though).
And take a look of this photo shot after 6 days of wearing:

Oserei dire un "ben fatto, Urban Decay".
Ma passiamo ai dettagli.
Non sono una grande fan del pennello da 400 setole che, nonostante non fosse eccessivamente largo, per i miei gusti è troppo lungo. Ad ogni modo, l'applicazione non è difficoltosa. L'asciugatura è rapidissima per quanto riguarda Vice, leggermente meno per quanto riguarda Addiction. La durata potete giudicarla da voi.
Per quanto riguarda i contro, posso dirvi che le boccette da 9mL vengono poco meno di 17€ cadauna? Ecco, a mio modesto parere, è una follia.
Ma, essendo una drogata di smalti dall'acquisto compulsivo, non ho potuto farne a meno.
E voi, come vi comportate di fronte al vostro brand preferito dopo che, al solito, in Italia, vengono gonfiati i prezzi alla follia?
Cosa ne pensate di Vice & Addiction? Li avete acquistati?
Cosa ne pensate di Urban Decay?
E del packaging?

I would say "well done, Urban Decay".
But let's talk about the details.
I'm not a fan of this 400-strand brush which is not too large but it's too long, for my taste. Nevertheless, the application is not difficult. The drying time is very quick for Vice and slightly less quick for Addiction. The lasting? Take a look back at the previous photo.
Let's spend a word for the cons.
9mL (0.30 FL.OZ) bottles for almost 17€ (in Italy, 15$ in USA) each one? They have gone mad.
But, being a polish-a-holic with compulsive buying action, I couldn't avoid them.
So, how do you behave when you're in front of your favorite brand boxes?
